6Geschehnisse in Delphi, dass nämlich Aischron, als [drei?] Athener,
7die unter dem Archon Diokles zu den Pythien kamen, als
8entführt gemeldet wurden - - - gehandelt hat
9zusammen mit Charixenos - - -

11Gewalt die Frevler (besiegte) und so die Ursache wurde für die
12Rettung der Gefangenen und ihre Befreiung;
13er sie schließlich nach Delphi zurückbrachte unter allem
14Schutz; – Damit nun auch in öffentlicher Weise der Rat und das Volk
15die guten Männer ehrt, zu Glück und Heil!, wolle beschließen
16der Rat: dass die Vorsitzenden, die erlost sein werden
17zum Vorsitz in der Volksversammlung, sobald die gesetzlich vorgeschriebenen
18Tage verstrichen sind, verhandeln lassen über - - -
19des Privilegs, und die Beschlussvorlage des Rates in die
20Volksversammlung einbringen, wonach der Rat es für gut befindet, dass man belobige
21Aischron S.d. Proxenos wegen seiner Leistung und seines Ehrgeizes,
22den er für das Volk der Athener hegt,
23und bekränze mit goldenem Kranz gemäß dem Gesetz;
24dass er auch Athener sein soll und seine Nachkommen, und er
25eingeschrieben werden in Phyle und Demos und Phratrie, die er
26will, so wie auch seine Vorfahren; – Damit auch die
27anderen ehrgeizig für das Volk der Athener
28kämpfen in dem Wissen, dass sie Dank erhalten werden,
29der den Wohltaten angemessen ist: dass die Prytanen, die
30jeweils im Amt sind, über das Privileg abstimmen
31lassen, und wenn es bestätigt worden ist, dass für ihn
32die Thesmotheten die Prüfung einleiten in dem öffentlichen
33Gerichtshof gemäß dem Gesetz; dass diesen
34Beschluss der Sekretär des Rates aufzeichne auf eine steinerne Stele
35und aufstelle auf der Akropolis; dass für die Anfertigung der

11he overpowered the outlaws, and [took charge of]
12the rescue and [ransoming] of those who had been captured,
13and restored them [to Delphi in complete] safety;
14so, therefore, that the Council and People might be seen to
15be honouring good men, for good fortune, the Council
16shall decide: that the presiding committee who happen
17to preside in the People, when the [days] set by the law
18[have passed], shall put the matter of the award - - - on the agenda,
19and submit the opinion of the Council
20to the People, that it seems good to the Council to praise
21Aischron son of Proxenos for the excellence and love of honour
22which he continues to have for the Athenian People
23and to crown him with a gold crown according to the law;
24and he shall be Athenian, and his descendants, and
25shall enrol in the tribe and deme and phratry that he
26wishes as did his ancestors, so that others too
27may show love of honour in competing on behalf of the Athenian
28People, knowing that they will receive thanks
29worthy of their benefactions; and the prytany which
30happens to be in office shall put the vote
31about the award, and when it is confirmed, the court presidents
32shall bring the scrutiny of him to the public
33court according to the laws; and the secretary of the Council
34shall inscribe this decree on a stone stele
35and stand it on the acropolis; and for the [making] of the stele
36the board of administrators shall allocate [the expenditure].
